Kwanare was founded in 1989. It realised our passion for our nation's wildlife heritage whilst focusing on the breeding of rare game species. Kwanare, an 8000 ha game farm, is situated near Stoffberg, between Belfast and Groblersdal, spanning both the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces.

There are seven breeding areas, ranging from 1000 ha to 2500 ha, where grazing varies from sourveldt to mixveldt. We firmly believe that male and female genetics are of equal importance. The aim has always been to breed well rounded animals of distinction, e.g. males with formidable bodies and thick, long horns as well as feminine females with excellent mothering abilities.
Kwanare is evidence that an animal of superior genetic make-up can and will survive in the harsh sourveldt and tick laden area of Stoffberg,  with little human assistance. Kwanare is known for our outstanding lineage of self bred animals, many having been sold to discerning clients the past two decades.

Nyati Game Breeding was established in 1999 when 12 buffalo heifers and 3 bull calves were bought from the Mokwale breeding project near Hoedspruit.

Our approach is different, we believe in tradition and sticking to the basics.
This takes time. Our 700ha farm, just north of Bethal, with its timeless grasslands, winding river and rolling hills create the perfect setting for game farming. This unique habitat on the eastern Mpumalanga highveld enhances our philosophy of patience and endurance.

Our animals are our joy, our pride. We focus on buffalo, eland and springbok. Selection is slow and calculated, consistently resulting in exceptionally balanced animals.

Groenvlei is nestled between Belfast and Dullstroom at the foot of the Steenkampsberg mountain range and is part of the Mpumalanga highveld at 1850 meters above sea level.

The Elandsfonteinspruit, the origin of the Elands river, runs through the farm. Our farming operation includes game breeding, stud cattle, free range eggs and fly fishing and stretches over 1800 hectares.

With harsh winters and sourveldt grazing, our main focus since 1996 has been on breeding hardy, adaptable animals. We currently have 18 species of game on the farm and the breeding program includes cape buffalo, livingstone eland, springbok, reedbuck, yellow blesbuck and oribi. Most of the game, with exception of cape buffalo and yellow blesbuck, roam free on 1500 hectares.
